Fabulous fish soup from le Provence area. Great atmosphere and service for 2 underdressed older tourists at mid day. Recommended by a local we flagged down to ask about a lunch location.
I put 5 stars: I have rarely eaten so well, from starter to dessert. Congratulations to the whole team, from room service to the kitchens!
Great food, great hosts and great guests. This restaurant is Paris' elite dinning hall, and grabbing lunch alongside ministers and celebrities is common there.
A good restaurant, the quality is at the rendezvous, the COVID-19 rules are OK
Excellent welcome, very pleasant setting, nice menu and dishes full of finesse. I recommend
Delicious and very warm welcome! We were delighted.
It is certainly an institution in the Odéon district. But unfortunately nothing gives you an emotion even if the cooking is right.
Magnificent setting, beautiful interior decoration, attentive and pleasant staff. They even make vegan entrees and dishes to order. The wine is very good. We will definitely return.
Excellent frankly heja the top👍👍🤣
A warm welcome. Super Restaurant La Méditerranée. Thank you for everything and I wish you the best during this difficult time.
Superb location, quiet It's good and well done but expensive and a little too classic ...
Great location this restaurant is excellent but not cheap but the fish is an expensive product especially when it is perfect in freshness and well cooked. But it remains an excellent experience. Good service.
Very good, refined and delicious, small weakness for the sea bream carpaccio that I recommend. Good reception, impeccable service.
A little outdated, sometimes rigid (refusal to replace fries with a less cholesterol-like dish like vegetables) but good food
Fantastic meal in a wonderful restaurant.
Great experience at this Place Odeon establishment in Paris. Specialized in fish and seafood. A good place to eat for a selection of oysters from different sources. Spectacular sole at the lunch. Surely the best in Paris. They also have a good selection of fine cheeses. Correct table service. High quality products. Price high but in Paris, eating good product, you know. Friendly and professional care. Good list of French wines. Also from other sources. It is essential to book. A good option to eat fish in Paris. I recommend.
Nice place, good food but today very slow and sloppy service. The young Lady responsible for our area was trying hard, but the job was too much for her. Why this still is a "bib gourmand" in the Michelin is hard to understand.
Soup d' poisson was terrific, the sole meuniere perfect. The pork belly tasted great. The service was attentive and it was a great evening.
The restaurant is quite pricey. Food was very tasty and we could sit outside and enjoy the nice view and the Paris street.
A life of eating brought me here and it didn’t disappoint. It was an experience I shall never forget nor could even recollect how good it was. With all my heart I beg you go to La mediterraneee. Say hello to Claudette too, she is too kind. Ah to be young in Paris again. But alas.
The best one of the Restaurant!
Service was awful the worst ever
You can eat fresh fish without going to the sea. Reservations are required. The theater is right in front of you. It is great to enjoy a meal after cultural activities.
Great fish dishes. Excellent service.
Hit or miss, but the hits are good. Note: the bouillabaisse is not authentic - they take their Soupe aux Poissons (which is very good), then add fish fillets and potatoes. Nothing wrong with that, but it is not the real thing (bouillabaisse broth is clear). Fortunately, croutons and rouille make everything better.
Tasty, pleasant and not very expensive.
Quality food at a good price.
It is a shop of Michel lamprate. Although the location is good, the set menu for lunch is relatively cheap at 31 euros. The lobster fire was perfect.
The food was quite bland, we were a party of 6 and all of us found that the dishes lacked taste and creativity. The fish tasted like it was coming out of the freezer. Certain members of the staff were very unpleasant. I would say you can definitely avoid this place.
You must experience this Restaurant in Paris
We had a great time! We arrived and were immediately seated. The plates were small so we ordered about 3 appetizers and 4 second courses (between the 4 of us). The waiters spoke English and were very hospitable. The bar area was full (Saturday night) it looked to be a good place to eat a small plate or socialize. Good ambiance and stylish scene!
Very good!
Main courses lacked anything interesting. Sirloin steak was dry, fish was just boiled with mushrooms. Only the starter of the octopus with grilled avocado and corn cream had something interesting in it. For 170 euros...totally overpriced and disappointing. Wine was good and service was professional.
Nice restaurant, not necessarily the kind of you'd go to for every lunch it nice Very tasty food, reasonable prices for the area To be tried at least once
Perfect dining
Always an exceptional experience. They serve only the freshest of fish that are in season. Highly recommend for a fancy seafood restaurant in true Parisian style.
Very good fish, cooked just right, service a wee bit disorganized.
I had dinner there in February 1979 and still remember the menu designed by Jean Cocteau. The food was perfect and we had a classic plateau de fruit de mer and a wonderful turbot. A bottle of a splendid white wine: maybe a puilly fume? Fantastic!
Service, dishes and cuisine impeccable. Very beautiful interior, well located on a large square just in front of the Odeon theater
Close to the Odeon Theater and the Luxembourg Gardens, the Mediterranean has been offering fish and seafood specialties since 1942. The frame is both bright and warm with the red tones of the decoration and the red velvet benches. Jean Cocteau, close to the owner of the time, drew the original Logo and the painter Christian Bérard, the wall decorations of the rooms. There are also photographs of great artists and celebrities. The Prix Médicis is awarded every year in its private salons.
Excellent food, pleasing service and nice atmosphere for a high class dinner.
Amazing food. Seabass is excellent! Service was exceptional
I love this place, always go theare when in Paris sixth. The fish is very fresh and cooking very good (traditional more than innovative but always precise). Service ok and wine list not extensive but with at least one nice choice available every time. A bit pricey but it is at the Odeon ....
The quality varies from good to excellent. Friendly staff. A good place to go for a long meal and a quiet conversation with friends. The view of the Theater is wonderful.
An Elegant restaurant opposite the Théâtre de l'Odéon.... Specialising in seafood and fish, with artistic decoration ...A lovely Parisian meeting place...A little expensive though.
We came here on the recommendation of our hotel. The service was good but he food was terrible. My boyfriend ate the octopus starter which was "as chewy as a car tyre" and almost inedible, my tuna tartee however was decent. To follow I had Seabream which they covered in what I can only describe as sweet chilly sauce on top of a cheesy tasting polenta. Odd flavours that killed the Seabream. My boyfriend ate the house special "Bouillabaisse" which was anything but special and rather grainy. Don't waste a night in Paris here.
Best fish Restaurant in Paris (so far)
This ice cream store has been here since 1954. This is the best ice cream I have ever tasted. I love the classic wood facade of the store. It is very quaint. I went in November, so I did not have to wait in long lines to taste the varieties of delights. I bought more than a cone, I bought a pint and took it back to my hotel. Chocolate chip was the flavor. I will definitely be back to try other flavors.
Have been to La Mediterranee six times in the last year. Always had a great meal, great service and understanding with my limited French! Often can't get past the Bouillabaisse, the octopus salad or the crab. Go hungry! That way you will have room for their sensational desserts.
Ok, fine
